Timothy J. Glover's new book, Community of Believers ($28.99, hardcover, 9781498494564; $17.99, paperback, 9781498490795; $8.99, eBook, 9781498490801) aims to distinguish local church organizations from the Greek word "ekklesia" by defining and describing its use in Scripture. It is consistently used to describe a classification of individuals, whether collected and known of God universally, regionally, or citywide. The book questions the concept of "collective action" and explores the proof texts used for it, while focusing on individual application for these texts.

Glover says, "Community of Believers is designed to heighten the awareness that the cause of division among believers in Christ is the humanly devised concept of the church being an institution like a public school system. It is my prayer that individuals are struck by their own accountability and responsibility that elicits a radical change within each heart. Jesus' prayer for unity can never be realized until we eliminate the allegiance and ties to "our" church denomination. This awareness calls for a cultural transformation that effects a change in the way we think and interact with each other."

For 30 years, Timothy J. Glover has been employed by church organizations that provide his salary in exchange for a professional service. Glover has not only devoted himself to God and a disciplined study of His word, but he can offer first-hand evidence for the presence of a sectarian spirit. Second, Glover has a Master's degree in Religious Studies wherein he engaged in critical thinking and honest research into the causes of so much confusion and division.
