In his own words, Kevin Tuerff narrated his 9/11 story for a new audiobook, "Channel of Peace: Stranded in Gander on 9/11." Kevin's personal memoir is one of the true stories that inspired the smash hit musical Come From Away. On Broadway, 'Kevin T' is portrayed by Tony nominated actor Chad Kimball. In the Toronto production, Kevin's doppelgänger is veteran film and stage actor Jack Noseworthy.
Toronto-based House of Anansi Press published Tuerff's paperback in January 2018 with a US launch at BroadwayCon, featuring a candid interview between Chad Kimball and Kevin Tuerff. The book had strong sales in the first six months, and is now in its second printing. Anansi Audio recorded Tuerff in a Toronto studio in February when he was in town for the opening of the new Canadian production of Come From Away at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.
"Narrating my own audiobook was a lot of fun." said Kevin Tuerff. "As I read aloud, I was able to draw upon my memory and emotions to emphasize the heart-warming stories of Newfoundland compassion, plus the light, funny stories of our time in Gander during the September 11 crisis."
The audiobook is currently available at Audible.com, Amazon.com and will soon be available via Kobo, Overdrive and Findaway.
With the upcoming North American tour and new productions in Ireland, UK and Australia, House of Anansi Press plans to distribute Channel of Peace books broadly across America, Europe and Australia. Tuerff is now an international public speaker delivering group talks on "The Ripple Effects of Compassion," based on his book.
