Wars at Work provides business managers with practical framework they can use to define, describe and resolve workplace issues.
According to author Kaveh Mir, most businesses don't anticipate the struggles, control issues and social conflicts that result from merging various work styles and personalities.
"Wars at Work shows how personality tests can be applied to workplace problem-solving," said Mir. "I aim to bring together a number of measures to show how workers can complement each other and work in tandem. Doing this will allow problems to be solved before they arise."
Mir cites real-world case studies throughout his book. Each chapter of Wars at Work describes a problem and then offers in-depth insights, tactics, strategies and action steps people can follow to deal constructively and positively with each conflict.
By discussing the various issues that can arise within a workplace, Mir hopes to convey a simple premise: People can solve workplace problems as long as they understand the personality differences between themselves and others.
"Most people have had no training or support to deal with their conflicts effectively," said Mir. "Wars at Work is different from many other workplace guides because it doesn't focus on using a single personality assessment to get results. Instead, it combines various methods of measurement to create a toolkit for resolving conflict."
