"Gunboats Forever" is about the best ship the Navy ever launched, a Missile Patrol Gunboat. The book is about a very exciting year on one of those Gunboats when it was home ported in Naples Italy and operated though out the Mediterranean. Grand Raids was the first US Navy ship to visit the nation of Israel.

About the Author

Bruce Holdt is a retired U.S. naval officer. He spent thirty year in the Navy. In 2009, he became very ill with liver disease. He suffered four compression fractures of his spine and received a liver transplant. He lives and writes books from his home on a beautiful lake in northern Minnesota, USA.
