Cock-A-Doodle Moooo! Animal Combinations with Keith DuQuette
With the guidance of author/illustrator of Cock-a-doodle moooo!, Keith DuQuette and a workshop featuring drawings of a diverse group of real animals, participants are asked to draw their own animal combination, put it in a setting, and give it a made-up name. At the conclusion of the workshop, the children will have an opportunity to share their wondrous animal creation with the group. This workshop can only accommondate 25 kids, so they are first come, first served.

Drawn in Brooklyn • curated by John Bemelmans Marciano
Brooklyn Public Library presents a festival and exhibition of children's book art curated by John Bemelmans Marciano and featuring the work of over 30 illustrators who live and work in Brooklyn, from the most exciting newcomers in publishing to the legends of the business.
The exhibition showcases over a hundred pieces of art from such books as Duck for President, the Curious Garden, Moonshot, and Madeline and the Cats of Rome, and includes such Caldecott and Coretta Scott King award winners as Leo and Diane Dillon, Brian Selznick, Paul O. Zelinsky, Bryan Collier, Pat Cummings, and Brian Pinkney.
The original picture book art of 34 illustrators is featured in the Grand Lobby. In the Youth Wing, the artists reveal the process behind their work with sketches, models, tools and more.

Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) is an independent library system for the 2.5 million residents of Brooklyn. It is the fifth largest library system in the United States with 60 neighborhood libraries. BPL offers free programs and services for all ages and stages of life, including a huge selection of books in more than 30 languages, author talks, job search help, literacy programs, public computers and the largest WiFi network in the borough.
