Turning lemons into lemonade is how the old saying goes, but for one Brooklyn actor that is the story of his life. In his new book, From Hopeless to Hollywood: The Mario Bosco Story actor Mario Bosco explains how he used his battle with pan-hypopituitarism to become a Hollywood favorite.

Mario Bosco struggled for years to survive the aftermath of a medical mistake at birth that destroyed his pituitary gland and thus limited his growth - making this 42 year-old man look and sound like a 14 year-old boy. Mario tells in his new book how an encounter with acting became his means of changing his life as well as giving him an outlet through which to fight the ravages of his illness.

Mario Bosco found that he could use his illness to the benefit of his acting career by perpetually playing "child and youth roles" in major film and TV productions. Many well known directors felt that by casting for a "youth" role a grown man who was able to provide a professional performance was the golden ticket. Hollywood beckoned and so Mario's acting career blossomed. His resume reads like a who's who of shows he has worked on including: NYPD Blue, The Sopranos, The Best Damn Sports Show Period., and numerous Jimmy Kimmel Live! skits.

From Hopeless to Hollywood: The Mario Bosco Story is currently available for pre-order from Barnes and Noble, and will be available on July 14th, 2015 at Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com, and iTunes.
