In author Derek Hitchmough's Enlightenment Series, the world of Brianna is opened. "Enlightenment: Oathkeeper" chronicles her journey as she dodges the dark forces that hunt her. There are revelations that will change her life and how she views people. This is the second book of a trilogy, continuing the story of a young woman trying to find her place in the world.
Brianna has been through much, but despite all odds, she has turned her life around. A new home, friends she has gotten close to, and a fairly normal life. Dark forces still seek to destroy this state of affairs at every turn, including unnatural creatures, and a man hell-bent on capturing her. But another is behind much of this, watching from the shadows with an unusual interest in the young woman. And there is still much to discover. Revelations will change how Bri views people, specifically the man who has hunted her and the friend closest to her heart. Even bigger are a few secrets that will change the entire situation. All of which lead to a confrontation that will leave them all stunned. Will Brianna evade captivity in the hands of dark forces?
Despite being a fantasy work, the story focuses more on characterization and the personal conflicts of the characters. Readers will get to know more about Emmy, Verra, Keith and Fenrir as they impart a lesson about the essence of friendship and perseverance in times of trouble. "Enlightenment: Oathkeeper" will make them realize that one is never alone when confronted with obstacles and problems.
