In his new book, "Seven Painters who Changed the Course of Art History" (published by AuthorHouse), author Brian Thom McQuade offers readers his perspective on the lives and work of some of the art world's most accomplished painters.

McQuade gives brief biographies of seven painters who he believes changed the course of art forever. He believes their techniques were heavily influential, but he also points out how their new ways of thinking and reasoning influenced the art world. "Seven Painters who Changed the Course of Art History" looks closely at the lives, triumphs and disasters of great painters of the 14th through the 19th centuries.

An excerpt from "Seven Painters who Changed the Course of Art History:"

"Constanza herself, whose son's reputation and life were under threat, could have been put under pressure also not only to tell about the whereabouts of the returned paintings but earlier, to inform the Master of Malta about Caravaggio's secret departure by sea. If he had reached Rome, then he would have been pardoned for the murder of Tommasoni and would also have come under the protection of the Pope's powerful nephew and be therefore 'untouchable'. The only way for the Knights to stop Caravaggio from getting there seems to have been to waylay him at the tiny Papal enclave of Palo where he may have been murdered by the connivance of Constanza, her son, and members of the Order."

In the above quote, McQuade unveils his theory about Caravaggio's disappearance and mysterious death. The rest of the book offers similar ideas. "It contains many unknown features on these painters and also explains why they painted the way they did," he says. "All of the illustrations are also fully explained so that people unfamiliar with art can easily understand why they were painted in the way they were."
