Books and Family Sunday - A Day for Families and Friends to Share a... Image The founder of Texas Association of Authors and Indie Beacon is encouraging people to take back the Sunday after Thanksgiving from the marketing and retail outlets and make it a day for family and friends to gather together, relax and enjoy one or more great books.

"It has been proven time and time again that reading is not only a great way to learn new things but also to reduce stress by discovering new worlds or deciphering a tricky mystery," stated Alan Bourgeois. This year, TxAuthors and Indie Beacon encourages people to stop shopping, sit down with family and friends and share a great story on Sunday, November 25th. You could even discover a great story by an indie author.

Children will love discovering books from the generations of their grandparents, aunts or uncles. And the older generation will love discovering new books to read to the new generation.

Bourgeois stated, "The more books you read, the more your intelligence increases, which leads to better jobs, healthier living, and more joyful lives. While this is a long-term process that starts when you are young, you are never too old to start reading a great book. There is no time, like now, to read a great book and increase your peace and happiness, especially when you are with family or friends."

"The Thanksgiving Holiday has become too crazy with families rushing around mostly shopping trying to get the best deal available. The Sunday after Thanksgiving thankfully didn't have a big shopping day, so we are taking it back and making it a day to slow down, relax and have some great time together with family & friends by sharing a great book. Helping generations to reconnect and to encourage more reading, a proven way to improve one's education, while relieving stress at the same time," said B Alan Bourgeois founder of Drop Everything And Read Indie.

Share your moment of reading with family or friends on Sunday, November 25th using the hashtag #BFS on your favorite social media system.
