Book Provides Guidance on How to Bring Marine Teams Together Image Retired Marine Drill Instructor, Gunnery Sergeant JoAnna Mendoza wanted to provide Marines with the knowledge she had learned throughout her time in service as a Marine. It prompted her to write "Esprit de Corps: Guiding Principles & Spirituality for Modern Marine Teams" (published by Balboa Press in May 2017), outlining how the United States Marine Corps produces winning teams.

The book written for Marines provides guidance on how to bring Marine Teams together. Additionally, the principles provide guidance on how to make them successful. Lastly, it provides inspiration and motivation that can be used along the way.

"This book will appeal to readers who are service members, Marine leaders and aspiring Marine leaders because it explains how their actions (or lack thereof) affect the teams they lead," Mendoza says. "The principles found in the book can be applied in any era, as these principles do not get old. Marines have operated by these or similar principles for centuries."

"I spent 20 years in service to our great nation. I learned from personal experience. This book gives practical guidance and inspiration the Marines can put to use on a daily basis."
