A new church brings faith, hope and murder to Chris Landrum's Folly Beach doorstep in Bill Noel's ninth installment to his Folly Beach Mystery series, "First Light" (published by iUniverse).

Landrum is a retired executive who moved to Folly Beach and opened a photo gallery. Since moving there eight years ago, he has accumulated several friends - Charles Fowler, his sidekick; Larry LaMond, hardware store owner and former cat burglar; Dude Sloan, the aging hippy who owns a surf shop; Country Cal, a washed-up country music singer; and Amber Lewis, his former love interest and charming, attractive waitress.

In the newest book, an early morning walk for sunrise pictures leads to a chance encounter with a stranger, who is suddenly plowed down by a hit-and-run vehicle right next to Landrum. Who was the man and why was he killed?

Landrum and his friend, Fowler, a self-proclaimed private detective, launch their own investigation into the murder when authorities rule the death a tragic accident. As the body count rises, the amateur sleuths have their work cut out for them.
