BRYANT, Wis.
While her husband battled lung cancer, author Betty Wyatt began compiling her writings from their 48 years of marriage. She also wrote of his illness, saying good-bye and her life as a widow in her new book of poetry and stories, "Ticktock to Triumph" (published by iUniverse).
In "Ticktock to Triumph", Wyatt presents universal themes of loss, love, family and grief through what she calls a collection of "soul songs" in poetic form.
"I put into words what others are feeling and cannot express - I've been told this many times," Wyatt says. "Sometimes, people just don't know where to turn when they are hurting. My book may open the door to understanding those circumstances."
A poetry excerpt from "Ticktock to Triumph":
"'I was lost, but now I'm found,'
Rings the sweet melody.
About and all around
Is joy and peace and grace.
We are free in this place of love,
Where whispers of wisdom are shared.
Here we've been shaped into his own,
Through his redemptive care(...)"
