LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ She has impacted millions of women through her best-selling books and sold-out conferences across America. Her weekly program Living Proof is seen by viewers around the world on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Now popular Christian author Beth Moore has set her pen to fiction and her first published novel is garnering great reviews!

On Thursday, October 27th, Moore will join hosts Matt and Laurie Crouch for TBN's Christian talk show Praise to introduce The Undoing of Saint Silvanus, a fast-paced mystery novel that combines faith, page-turning suspense, and the rich flavor of New Orleans culture and history.

The story revolves around a young woman, Jillian, who travels to New Orleans to attend the funeral of her father, whom she hasn't seen for twenty years. Reconnecting with her estranged grandmother, Jillian soon discovers that the police are investigating her father's death, and she quickly gets sucked into a tangled mystery surrounding the tenants of an old church-turned-apartment house owned by her grandmother.

Moore took nearly four years to pen the novel in her spare time while also researching and writing Christian books and Bible studies, and conducting regular women's conferences across the nation. While she confessed to being "terrified" at the prospect of anyone actually reading the finished product, reviews of the novel have been unanimously positive.

Publishers Weekly calls Moore's novel an "endearing and entertaining" book that "is certain to draw myriad readers familiar with her bestselling" non-fiction works. Library Journal says that with her first novel Moore "delivers an absorbing, suspenseful read." And Booklist says that Moore's fiction writing "brings southern culture to life, and thoughtfully poses questions of belonging, sin, and self-worth. From its gritty start to its redemptive finish, Moore's ambitious first novel spotlights her gifts for humanizing the biblical experience and the search for faith."

Moore explained that far more than merely an absorbing mystery story, The Undoing of Saint Silvanus is at its core a dramatic representation of how dysfunction, brokenness, and conflict can play out in families over years and even generations. She told Library Journal that her hope is the novel will inspire "a conversation between readers about the role of faith in extreme brokenness. If a group of people are not going to be happy, God will care about them anyway. He can reconcile all and do something miraculous there."
