During the 48th Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference (ALC), Dr. Sterling will lead a public health discussion based on his book, "Behind the Curtain: A Peek at Life from within the ER" (Brown Books Publishing Group). Drawing on real-life traumas and triumphs from his twenty-plus year medical career, Sterling examines the correlation between patient choices and consequences and how we live our lives.
A second Author Forum appearance at ALC highlights Dr. Sterling’s co-founding of the first archive of the African-American experience at a predominantly white college. His new book, "Voices and Visions: The Evolution of the Black Experience at Northwestern University" is featured in this discussion. Sterling’s book shares the experiences of African American students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni, who studied, worked, struggled, and triumphed at Northwestern.
On September 27, 2018, Dr. Sterling travels to Northwestern University to introduce and moderate a panel discussion before the Board of the Northwestern Alumni Association. This special event previews a film conceived and produced by Dr. Sterling titled: "The Takeover – The Revolution of the Black Experience at Northwestern University."
Jeffrey E. Sterling, MD, MPH, FACEP is President and CEO of Sterling Initiatives, a healthcare consulting and implementation firm.
