Best-Selling Author, Doctor Helps D.C. Fight Diabetes with Plant-Based Diet on March 20  Image Washington residents who struggle with type 2 diabetes can attend a free event on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, to learn how to prevent, reverse, and control diabetes. Neal Barnard, M.D., local diabetes researcher, will also discuss his new book, Dr. Neal Barnard's Cookbook for Reversing Diabetes, and sign books for attendees.

"Close to 9 percent of Washington residents have been diagnosed with diabetes," says Neal Barnard, M.D. "And making healthy diet changes is one of the most important lifestyle factors to help prevent, manage, and reverse diabetes."

Vegan This!, a local plant-based nutrition support group, happens monthly and features local health experts, community influencers, and helpful resources. The aim is to provide local residents with support and the education to make healthful and lasting diet changes.
