From the author who brings to life the unforgettable character of Jacky, the inspiring jovial owner of the Flower Lounge, to the despicable Big Spender, Bernard Tsai is a master storyteller that carefully weaves characters in a make believe fiction that is vividly brought to life. Butterflies is an equivocal tale of love and romance based on the intimate and provocative settings of the KTV scene in Singapore. It offers unforgettable love scenes with some of the most sensuous girls in the Flower Lounge. From the intoxicating "double happiness" sex with the lovely Xi Xi and her cousin sister, two of the most beautiful hostesses in the Flower Lounge, to the night of passion with Lily in the cable car, these tantalizing love scenes will leave readers panting with desire for more.

When Brandon returned to Singapore from the US and went on his first outing to the Flower Lounge in Singapore; he did not expect to fall head over heels in love with the captivating singer Lily. Her sultry singing and her curvaceous figure mesmerized him and drew him to her like a moth to an open flame. Her sad melancholic eyes intrigued him and drew him back nightly to the Flower Lounge to see her. However Lily, in her desperate need for money, was trapped in a relationship with the violent Big Spender, an underworld figure in Singapore. She had "taken too much money" from him to be able to break free. Their unfulfilled love for each other took Brandon on a dark journey through the colorful, mercenary and seductive world of the singers and hostesses in this Flower Lounge in Singapore.

Brandon's journey of unfettered desires and his discovery of unimaginable bodily pleasures with the beautiful Chinese girls in this Flower Lounge will lead him finally into a desperate fight in Beijing for the custody of his new born baby girl from an ill conceived pregnancy with a hostess called Zhang. Against the might of the powerful Mr. Lin in Beijing, who was the longtime boyfriend of Zhang, Brandon fights desperately to return with his new born daughter to the safety of Singapore. He desperately seeks the help of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing to provide him with the passport for his new born daughter to travel to Singapore. Will he succumb to the well laid plan of Zhang to return to the side of her old boyfriend, using his new born daughter as bait, in order to rule with him at the head of the Lin Empire of construction, real estate development and money laundering that spans the globe?

Skillfully written and highly engaging, Butterflies is an excellent, gripping, exciting and powerful fiction that offers insights into the mysterious, colorful and unscrupulous KTV scene of Singapore with a fast-paced narrative that is hard hitting, insightful and laced with satire.
