Barbie Barton Retells Childhood Stories in DAVEY

Even children have their very own sense of pride and put on an air of self-righteousness when they think they are right; sometimes this leads them to disregard their parent's warnings and more often than not they end up hurt or lost. The little boy named "Davey" often thinks he knows best, but finds out the hard way, through lots of scary adventures, and a bit of fun, that mother is always right. He gets washed out to sea and is rescued by "Friendly Fish", who engages the help of his grumpy old mate, "Octopus" to help them get away from the scary "Mr. Shark". Davey is reluctant to leave his new mate "Friendly Fish", but realises he has to get back to his family and ask forgiveness from his mother whom he disobeyed.

With easy to read and understand words suited for children, Barton charmingly tells an engaging and highly entertaining story injected with a moral lesson every child needs to know. Inspired mainly by the stories of her grandfather since she was a child, Barton gives back and entertains, stirs imaginations and teaches through the adventures of "Davey."

About the Author
Barbie Barton was born in 1947 and grew up on a dairy farm in Jindivick, Victoria. Reading and music were always her passion, and she often refers to herself as an avid "bookworm". After completing her nursing training at the Warragul Hospital, Barton moved up to Brisbane, Queensland. In 1997 her husband, George, and she moved north to the Sunshine Coast where they have lived happily retired at Currimundi. From then on, Barton started getting more involved in music; playing and singing for church services, funeral services and weddings. She discovered that she has one more talent she didn't realise until she started writing stories.
