Throughout "Miska Valley," readers watch as Sandy slowly convinces Andrew to give her the things she wants: an expensive car, a house they can't afford and lodging for her mother. To make matters worse, Andrew is blind to the direction his life is hurtling in. But unbeknownst to Andrew or Sandy, one of his family members has taken notice of Sandy's manipulation - and they intend to stop her.

About the Author
Barbara Ashton grew up in the suburbs of Sydney. She and her first husband reared their four children in Blacktown, Australia. As her marriage began to fall apart, she lost her second-born son in a car accident when he was 17. She began a correspondence course with a writing school, and after many short stories and instructions wrote her first novel. She changed her lifestyle, married her second husband in 1982 and now lives in Gosford. She is the proud grandparent of 17 grandchildren.
