Washington, DC
Carina Salva was diagnosed with a rare nerve condition that caused a fluid-filled cyst in her spine. A year later, after undergoing major surgery to repress further progression of her condition, a strep infection paralyzed four of the fingers on her right hand. These challenges did not deter her from pursuing opportunities to live better. They became her motivation to succeed.
In her new book, "Because You Are Here," Salva promotes appreciation, love and acceptance for those who inspire and influence us. She encourages readers of any age to express their love to those they appreciate and to express gratitude for the opportunities they're offered.
"I believe that used right, my book can start, make and keep the closeness in a family, friendship or any relationship," Salva said. "It could even be used to save a relationship."
"Because You Are Here" includes translations in Spanish, French, Chinese and the author's native Tagalong. The book's multiple languages inspire and motivate thinkers of any age and background to remember to always remain thankful, accept responsibilities, be grateful, show consideration and above all, be loving to others.
