Can love overcome hatred for an entire race of people? Can a young man resist his father's teachings to find his own happiness? Can a couple raise a child without prejudice? Author JD Burton shares a romantic story of how love triumphs over racial indifferences in his debut book, The Poplar Trees.

Sadie is a Black activist, and Brad is groomed to one day take over the leadership from his father of the local KKK. Sadie comes from a broken home and is raised by her mother who also works for Brad's father. Brad's father is a racist and a tyrant who runs Malloy County with an iron fist. To complicate matters more, Brad and Sadie find themselves in love and together must somehow raise a child who happens to be their sister.

In this love story, readers will follow Brad and Sadie as they must somehow overcome their differences in order for their love to survive. Readers will find themselves brought back to the 1960's in the Deep South at a time of racial turmoil, deep hatred, and racial inequality, as they immerse in this romance novel.

This book is available online and can be purchased at www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com.
