In his book of poetry and prose "Blue Garden "(published by iUniverse), Witold Poplawski offers readers a literary exploration of morality and spirituality and their connection to human existence.

"Blue Garden" is composed of four interconnected parts. In the first part, Garden of Silence, Poplawski explores what he calls the "... specific, subtle shades of everlasting meaning that permeates silence." Parts two and three, Garden of Light and Garden of Shade, explore human virtues and vices based on factual events, as well as fiction and science fiction. Here, Poplawski uses a hybrid writing style, offering 24 poems where each is followed by a corresponding prose companion. The fourth part, Mediterranean Gardens, touches on concepts of beauty and joy, hailing what Poplawski calls "...the creative powers of the great unknown."

An excerpt from the poem "Acceptance":

"In full surrender
To the ocean of silky-soft flames
Feeding all life
From within,
May we await the gifts
Left on the path to acceptance"

"Blue Garden" is a charitable project in the form of a book. All royalties from this volume go to the Leprosy Mission Canada, helping to cure leprosy in children.

Witold Poplawski, once a coal miner, factory worker and university lecturer, is a psychologist in Peterborough, Ontario. An award-winning author, he has been honored with a decoration of Merit to Polish Culture, as well as an Exceptional Achievement Award for Humanitarian Service from the Ontario government.
