Author Unveils Book Based on Dungeons and Dragons and Role-Play Gaming

J.R.R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin and J.K. Rowling are all known for their knack of taking a story and building an entire world. David Dowell is set to create his own universe with the launch of his first book in an upcoming fantasy adventure series. Inspired by these and other famous fantasy writers, David Dowell looks to add his name to readers' bookcases with "The Gods of Dark Swell: Champions of The Realm."

"The Gods of Dark Swell" follows the story of six gifted individuals who are chosen to compete in a game of world building and imagination assembled by a being known only as the "Creator." Each of those chosen must cultivate a realm within the world of the "Creator." They will grow their realm, populate a race, and eventually choose a champion to try and claim the ultimate prize. The only catch: the young gods do not know what their reward will be or what measures they must take to claim it.

"I've often imagined my own work propped up on my bookshelf right next to classic fantasy series," Dowell said. "I understand the need for a captivating and adventurous story, but in addition to that I wanted to create characters with real personalities that readers will grow to love or hate.
