Author Solutions, LLC, a Penguin Random House company and the world leader in supported self-publishing services, is highlighting iUniverse author Susan Norris and her book "Rescuing Hope" through its "Real Authors, Real Impact" campaign.
Norris began investigating the epidemic of sex trafficking, after hearing rumors about children being exploited in her suburban Atlanta neighborhood. Through her research, Norris said she was appalled to discover that more than 100,000 U.S. children are sexually trafficked annually. To shine a light on this crisis, Norris set forth to writing "Rescuing Hope," a novel partially based on a series of interviews she conducted with victims.
"This is not just taking place in Cambodia or Thailand, but it's happening right here in the United States," Norris said. "As we become aware, then hopefully people will become motivated to action and take a step to make a change."
Norris chose to self-publish with iUniverse so that she could deliver her message her way as well as meet an important deadline. While writing the book, she was approached by a national ministry that wanted to launch the book at a New Year's event.
"If I could share just one piece of information to prevent one child from falling victim, it would be worth the effort," Norris added.
