This volume is about two children, Ronald and Terri, who believe they are reincarnations. Ronald thinks he is a girl in a past life. He finally comes to terms with his present sex and he is happy to be a homosexual male. His father, however, is a homophobic bigot who makes his son's life miserable.
Terri, on the other hand, believes that in her previous life, she was an old Jewish woman. As she grows up, Terri speaks Yiddish and plays the piano. Later on, it becomes apparent that she is really not a reincarnation. The old Jewish woman, Maddy, is actually "sharing" Terri's body until Terri can finish something that Maddy could not do while she was alive. There are two minds and souls within Terri's body.
The story follows the children through the first 22 years of their lives. Terri has a wonderful family, including her older sister Roz. They are best friends forever and they do lots of fun things together. Her parents, confused by Terri's uninvited guest to her body, are nevertheless embracing the situation with acceptance and understanding.

Phyllis Tamres is 81 years old. She lives in Florida with her husband of 62 years. 'Maddy and Terri' is her first completed novel. She has written, produced and directed five musical plays for her Florida condo. For the past 10 years, she has concentrated on designing websites and photo restorations.
