Author Pens Story of Love, Family, Spiritual Transformation ImageRebeca Rios-Kohn was inspired by actual events and real experiences from her own life as a child rights advocate in writing her first book. In "Volver Is to Return" (published by AuthorHouse), Rios-Kohn conveys to readers how being part of a noble cause is rewarding, despite its enormous challenges and risks that come with it.

In this suspense fiction book, the heroine, America Somerville, is a human rights lawyer born in Uruguay to a prestigious and wealthy family. America works for UNICEF and lives in New York City with her husband and young son. A personal tragedy forces her to return home to the ranch Los Olivos in Uruguay. There, she faces some of her family's darkest secrets. In the painful grieving process, America finds faith and her true calling.

"Volver Is to Return" addresses some of the biggest challenges faced by advocates of children's rights today in many developing countries, where children are being exploited through child labor, deprived of an education and living in extreme poverty. This book also provides insights into diverse cultures such as in India, Peru, Vietnam and Uruguay.

An excerpt from the book:
The world that had become my refuge in New York City before losing all that was dear to me is now a painful memory. My life was to change brutally and forever in only a matter of minutes, without any warning, nearly breaking my spirit.
