Author Muriithi Kiboi Releases WAR IN THE FOREST

In "War in the Forest" (published by Trafford Publishing), Muriithi Kiboi gives an insight of his father's memoir, "Kiboi Muriithi,"which is getting a revised marketing push. Readers find themselves face to face with Kiboi Muriithi, better known as General Kamwana, the leader of the Mau Mau army and the liberator of Kenya from the British colonial rule between 1951-1963.

"War in the Forest" brings readers into the world of economic, political and social confusion that the Mau Mau had to navigate through to reclaim their freedom and land from the British. "The Mau Mau knew that the British would balkanize the Africans through a 'divide and rule' policy," explains Muriithi. "This would force them to pledge allegiance to British rule or face death." Muriithi Kiboi was born in Nyeri county, Kenya in 1960. He taught English language, English literature and history as a high school teacher. He enjoys writing fiction, oral literature and poetry. A gifted actor, he is a resident of New York. He is married to Jane, and they have three children.
