DES PLAINES, Ill. - In a continuation of the magical adventure series "Elysia," the first book's heroine, Courtney, comes back with a dangerous quest: she must stop a daunting evil force from succeeding in a diabolical plan. Together with the other Light Swords, she must face her fears and conquer them as they meet fantastical creatures and people in Malcolm Chester's "Elysia: The Magical World."

Courtney, the heroine from the first book, returns to Elysia to help stop Maelstrom kids from using magic to recover the crystal that powers Elysia. She is joined there by the other Light Swords. Together, they must take a dangerous journey through Maelstrom and confront the Evil Wizard in the Magic World to stop the magic. Filled with extraordinary characters weaved from worlds both real and imagined, "Elysia: The Magical World" takes readers on a breathtaking journey throughout the fantastical dimensions of Elysia, Maelstrom, and the Magic World in an epic struggle between good and evil.

Author Malcolm Chester's book illustrates the timely principle that to grow, a child must face his or her fears and conquer them, as heroine Courtney symbolizes in her journey to triumph against daunting obstacles. In this tale of magic and sacrifice, the universal struggle of good against evil - well presented in the wars and conflicts across the globe - is depicted in one young girl's tumultuous adventure to fight for what is right.
