What began as a day trip in the foothills of a mountainous area to do some target practice with a new rifle becomes a nightmare when two young boys seek refuge from a forest fire in a dark and scary-looking cave. Readers can find out if they will survive Six Days Inside A Mountain as they immerse in this fascinating science fiction novel by Louane K. Beyer.

Thirteen-year-old Peter takes his ten-year-old brother, Andy, into the foothills so he could try out his new rifle. Intent on finding targets for him to use, Peter forgot his father's strict instructions on how far they could go. Due to distraction and disorientation, they find themselves lost-a situation that worsens when the campfire they built sets the forest on fire, isolating them. With the reality of the danger sinking in, Peter and Andy begin to take steps to survival by making a plan to search for food and water together.

Each day brings harrowing experiences as the brothers walk deeper into the mountain all the while they learn more about each other. Their attempt at survival takes a dangerous turn when they realize they are not alone in the mountain. Will Peter and Andy be able to survive Six Days Inside A Mountain and return home safely? Readers can unravel the answer as they follow this exciting sci-fi adventure!

About the Author
For years, author Louane K Beyer has told stories to her grandchildren to encourage them to read and appreciate learning from others. Six Days Inside A Mountain is her first venture into story writing and publishing. It came together as a family project. Much of the research resulted from a trip taken many years ago through the Southwest United States and from recalling the UFO stories of Roswell, N.M. which enabled the inclusion of the alien invaders and finally from input from family members. As a mother of two boys, Beyer's sons helped her through the activities they participated in. Her family encouraged her to write them and offered to help with the illustrations and aided with suggestions. She is now beginning to write the sequel to this book.
