Author Launches Book Campaign for 'Dressing Basil Up and Down'

A young girl Matilda loves dressing up her long-suffering dog, Basil, in a series of silly costumes - he might be a ballerina in a tutu one day; the next Spiderman. One day, Mum takes Matilda to the zoo and paints a picture with words, helping Matilda see how silly the animals in the zoo would look if they were all dressed up.
Duncan shares the inspiration of writing the story: "I live in Hong Kong and I often laugh when I am out walking, when I see dogs in all sorts of outlandish costumes; booties, gumboots, knitted vests, even tutus! I decided to write an amusing rhyming story about a little girl who dresses her dog up every day -until Mum comes to poor Basil's rescue."

That night when the moon is all golden and splendid,
Matilda announces, 'Dog Dress-Up Days now have ended.'
But sometimes at night, when Basil lies snoring,
She slips on his crown, but just till the morning.
