Curiosity runs high in Jody Fife's new novel, "Taking Elyse" (published by iUniverse). "This book is a mystery with a moral," says Fife. "It's an entertaining work of fiction that makes you go, 'hmmm.'"

In "Taking Elyse," readers meet Elyse Broderick, a wife and mother residing happily in middle-class suburbia. Nothing extraordinary has ever happened to Elyse until today. Finding herself in the hands of two would-be abductors, she must make some life-altering choices. With her life on the line, will she be able to hold fast to her faith and keep integrity to a God she loves, or will her will to survive override her faith?

Inspired by her love of mysteries and her Christian faith, Fife wrote her new novel to be both entertaining and inspiring.

"I would say the theme of this book is the importance of making good choices," she explains. "I think this book will have a certain appeal because it is an opportunity for individuals to self-examine while being entertained."
