J. D. Hendel, who enjoys traveling the world and learning about life, has completed the new book "Love Hurts": a heart-wrenching story that showcases the way love can lift one up, but can also break one down.

"Love, sex, romance, and heartbreak," Hendel described the trajectory of "Love Hurts." "The story begins in the beautiful, exotic paradise of Costa Rica. Here, a man named Matt learns from experience how much love could hurt after falling in love with the beautiful Janet, who refuses to come home with him to Golden, Colorado."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Hendel's romantic novel is the first in an anticipated series Hendel refers to as the "Love Series".

But Matt is not the only person who knows the sting of love. Kim, in Birchwood, Minnesota lives with her doting father whose love is stifling and makes it hard for her to escape his grips. When she does manage to leave and open a gift shop in Brighton, Utah, Matt and Kim cross paths. After Kim leaves her father with a shattered life, and Matt has a broken heart of his own to deal with, these two survivors wonder if there's anything they can do help each other cope.

Readers who wish to experience this heartfelt work can purchase"Love Hurts" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
