What would parents do if they would learn that their only daughter was a victim of abuse, was repeatedly beaten, abused and even raped by her alcoholic husband? This is the situation Dr. Ellie Conlin discovered when her daughter Felicia called her for help about a particularly deep laceration that would not stop bleeding. What could she do, as do she must? From all appearances, Felicia seems to be a typical suburban housewife. But behind the closed doors of her home, she kept a dark and shameful secret. Gradually, she had become victimized, had been repeatedly beaten, verbally abused and even raped by her husband, Craig, a police reporter for the local newspaper.
Unknown vigilantes somehow discover the truth and decide to take the law into their own hands. As the local police and the FBI desperately try to uncover the vigilantes’ identities, startling secrets are slowly brought to light and the notions of justice, crime, punishment, the development of an abusive relationship, the nature and consequences of abuse and the dark undercurrents of private bedroom society are explored.
“Retribution: A Story of Domestic Abuse” uncovers the shocking secrets behind the façade of respectability and seeming peacefulness of some American homes. The topic of spousal abuse is rampant in today’s society and a large percentage of women are either victims, or have been, and others know a close friend or relative who has been a victim.
Bullock has written a narrative that unleashes retribution for years of abuse and teaches the abuser a lesson not soon to be forgotten. For more details about the book, visit https://www.amazon.com/Retribution-Story-Domestic-Gerald-Bullock/dp/1483626121.
