David R. Jain dives deep into the world of an addict in "My Journey Back from Pornography: Confessions of a Cave-Dweller" (published by WestBow Press); the methods he used to escape over 40 years of darkness into light.
An excerpt from "My Journey Back from Pornography":
"Do not think, for one second that one look will not hurt, and I say that with all my conviction. The mindset that one look will not hurt, could not be further from the truth. With one look, a person could be baited. With one look a person has allowed a door to be opened within themselves like I did, and Satan himself will follow with all his devices."
Jain starts the story with his childhood and how his addiction to pornography came about. The reader then follows Jain through the military and his fight against his addiction; "the single years were totally submerged in pornography." His addiction carried over into his marriage and through the birth of their first child. Jain then turns toward God and the Bible to help him solve his problems.
Toward the end, Jain's wife tells her side of the story, how she handled having a husband that was addicted to pornography. Jain hopes his memoir will help other individuals who are fighting an addiction to pornography. "In today's society more than ever, people need to be educated about pornography, so that they can understand just what it can really do to a life, whether a person is young or old."
