e've all been there - the troubling situations where we can't find the right words to say. C. Figueroa-Faxton offers a remedy in her latest book for those times when the words won't come.
From divorce, debilitating illness, financial hardship, relationship problems and family misfortunes - Figueroa-Faxton's "Passages of Power, Passion and Praise" offer inspiring quotes and scriptures for any adverse situation readers might face.
No stranger to hardship herself, Figueroa-Faxton was faced with the challenge of primary caregiver for her mother suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Her husband was also diagnosed with a terminal illness and Figueroa-Faxton's troubles truly began to pile up. After an emotional struggle from the death of her mother, she was faced with another devastating blow when her husband of 20 years passed away only a year later.
Having suffered a mild stroke the following year and months of physical therapy after, she was ready to return to work at her job in the World Trade Center when it was destroyed on September 11, 2001. Against all odds and depressing chain of events, Figueroa-Faxton has drawn from her faith and maintained a positive outlook to overcome melancholy moods.
Figueroa-Faxton felt compelled to offer her guidance and support for others experiencing similar trials and began work on this latest collection of passages and inspirational messages.
"How we handle our obstacles is in some ways more important than the problems we face," Figueroa-Faxton said. She urges readers to use "Passages of Power, Passion and Praise" as a tool to help take control of a seemingly hopeless situation.
