Teenage author Abby Nield invites her readers to step into the world of the Elementals, a rare breed of humans with the ability to control fire, water, earth and air. They are joined by others with supernatural powers, as well as shape shifters. Nield's novel, "Difficult Life: Total Disaster," tells the story of one of these gifted individuals, a young girl who is on the run from her power-hungry father and his plans for conquest.

Tilda is an ordinary girl with extraordinary powers, hiding her dangerous potential from the world and her own murderous father after she witnessed the deaths of her mother and brothers at his hands. In this sequel to "Difficult Life: Elemental on the Run," she is now trapped in a School for the Gifted and separated from her friends, and discovers that she is not the only one with incredible powers.

Making new friends and running into old enemies, she finally decides she has been hiding her gift for too long. As her past catches up to her, she discovers that she has nowhere to run, and that she has to be ready to face her fears. She must also find out who was the one who informed her father of her location. With her new companions, who wield different kinds of power, and her old shapeshifting friends, Tilda and her allies must fight to overcome her father. Readers will see if Tilda will be able to free herself of her father's diabolical schemes, or if she will succumb and be a part of his plan for global domination.

"Difficult Life: Total Disaster" is an exhilarating read, a work of teen fantasy fiction that will draw readers into a world of wild danger and secret lives. They will join Tilda as she discovers the courage to stand by her convictions and battle the demons from her past and her own family, all while trying to protect her new found friends.
