The print version of Startup Savvy was published by PublishAmerica in May of 2011; the audiobook was released on January 29, 2015. Wilcox wrote this book to help small businesses survive and succeed-especially those who have not been in business at least five years, since 85% of small businesses fail after only 18 months.

Startup Savvy contains relatable real-world entrepreneurial stories from seven actual small businesses combined with professional advice. The last chapter of Startup Savvy contains a 40-Day Survive to Five Campaign for increasing small business survival rates.

Douglas S. Kirkland, former Kingsport Chamber Board of Director's President and former president of both AFG Industries and Goodwill Industries of Tennessee-Virginia, has contributed a chapter in the book entitled, Baker's Dozen 13 Marketing Musts, and said, "Startup Savvy is a great book for anyone desiring to start a new business."

The audiobook is narrated by Anthony Appolito (Hawaii, USA), who recorded the book from mainland China while also working on the English announcements for the Guangzhou Metro. Appolito said about the book: "I had a great feeling going into this project, and I see unlimited potential for this book. Every page is to the point, with just the right touch of humor."

Wilcox is currently working on a new book to be released in Spring 2015, "Superwoman Smarts: Activating Leadership and Substance."
