The release of a new paperback Aaden BlueStar: The Awakening presents a different slant on a popular theme. Instead of a boy wizard, the boy in this tale discovers he is extraterrestrial. Aaden Greene, the son of a U.S. Senator seems an ordinary boy until a freak accident awakens his superhuman telepathic powers and presents him with more challenges than the usual coming of age teen. Astounded by his superhero abilities he's also confused by the terrifying vision of metaphysics that appears before him at the timing of his spiritual awakening.
As he struggles to come to terms with the responsibilities of these superhuman BlueStar powers, he also discovers that his father is more than an ordinary person and politician dedicated to environmental reform. Not only does Aaden have to adjust to his connections with two extraterrestrial champions, he is also astonished to learn that his father, Senator Adam Greene, is one of them. What amazes him most is the connection between his father, a Senator running for President and the charismatic E.T. with whom he has also had a telepathic connection throughout lifetimes.
With the world in turmoil due to global conflicts and environmental catastrophe, the ecological issues take centre stage in this story. The extraterrestrial interest in Earth is more out of concern about the precarious position we've placed ourselves through misuse of our environment. The story poses the question of whether we've already left it too late to remedy the environmental backlash, as evidenced by the increasing occurrence of natural disasters.
Aaden BlueStar: The Awakening is aimed at younger readers, but will also appeal to a wider audience of all ages because of the environmental message and the suggestions it presents about how we may recover from the approaching precipice ... with or without extraterrestrial help.
