Anneros Valensi Announces New Memoir, WHERE IS HOME?

One woman's childhood experiences of surviving World War II as an East German citizen come to life in the new memoir by Anneros Valensi "Where Is Home?: How a Childhood in East Germany during World War II Shaped My Adult Life" (published by Abbott Press).

World War II interrupted Valensi's childhood. Born in East Germany in 1938, Valensi was just 6 years old when WWII and its fallout struck her family. "Where Is Home?" shares the story of how she and her family survived the miseries of war.

"The book tells a compelling story," Valensi says. "It shares the realities of what life was like during that time and how we managed to stay alive. I tell stories of war, beginning with the cruel Russian occupation of my homeland, the trauma of an unsettled life and how my family survived."

"I want the reader to be aware and conscious about war, what is involved and that we are dealing with people, humans," Valensi says. About the Author
Anneros Valensi was born in Falkenau, Silesia, East Germany, in 1938. In 1945, she was evicted and lived in West Germany. Valensi became a registered nurse and moved to London, England, in 1961 and then to the United States in 1966. She has two children and three grandchildren and currently lives in New York.
