RINGTAIL CREEK, Australia

Her grandchildren's penchant for her stories and the encouragement she received from them propelled author Sharon Whitecross to share her delightful animal stories told in rhythm and rhyme. "The Goose is Loose" (published by Xlibris AU) is Whitecross' offer to other children out there who would like to see animals come to life.

This book is a collection of funny poems about farm animals and their comical ways. It is created out of the author's ability to make all animals have character, a voice and a story to tell. Set on Poppy's farm, each of the interesting animals come to life each in their own story.

The delightful words in "The Goose is Loose" are written with a smile and a hint of mischief, while the beautiful pictures bring to life the colourful, impish characters. The readers will get to know a goose with a penchant for biting bums; a large, happy bull who thinks he is a dog; the dazzling duck who believes that he is the best; and a kangaroo who fancies bread and chocolate biscuits that are just some of the quirky characters.

A collection of humorous poems about life on Poppy's farm, this vividly illustrated read serves as a reminder to both children and adults that animals are unique in their own way, poems can tell an interesting story and that rhyming can be fun.
