Life's fragile vision of the truth abandoned Eleora the day she found Sky. Even then, she knew some of the most fantastical tales were based on some sort of truth; never would she have fathomed that these tales would become her reality. Sky gave her life purpose beyond her own breath. Until now, she thought it was all just whimsical stories. She wanted the same thing that everyone wanted-love. But Eleora is not what she thinks she is and there are also factions trying to kill her.
"Velvet Bloodlines", a fiction fantasy novel written by author Angel Marie dives into three subject matters - human evolution being the first subject. Marie opened up the possibility of immortals by leveraging the lack of knowledge surrounding the O blood type and the gap in Darwin's theory of evolution. The second is opening the possibility of devolution since mankind was never able to evolve naturally due to disruption of the natural process. The third and final subject matter is leveraging historical and futuristic scenarios to paint the masterpiece tying everything together into one timeline. It tells the story of Eleora Gaia Monroe, a foster child who lost both her foster parents at the hands of The Rajini and is now being targeted herself. Eleora is the beginning of life, it is her bloodlines that allowed the jump in human evolution, and she is the first O blood type. With this event, two things happened-humans evolved and de-evolved.
The Rajini (also known as the missing link from the evolutionary chain) feed on the soul in order to prolong their own existence and increase their own strengths and abilities. Since humanity is not allowed to evolve naturally, certain blood types carried the Rh factor, which caused the shift to a more primitive form. Thus, the war they fight against the Kitra. The Rajini blamed every Kitra for their current state. They also believed that they could somehow cure their condition through the Kitra's blood. Sky and Eleora are known as the Royal Kitra, rebirthed warriors of the original guardians into this world. They were brought to be through the Well of Souls. Both their medallions serve as the keys to who they are. But the Rajini have taken the Wells of Souls out of the equation so that Eleora will not be reborn, thus breaking the rebirth process and making it possible to kill even an immortal.
An exhilarating, action-packed read full of twists and turns, "Velvet Bloodlines" is a mind-blowing fiction fantasy extravaganza that will take readers on an adventure-filled journey into the depths of human evolution and de-evolution as well as richly drawn characters and a compelling storyline brilliantly written by an author with a highly creative and imaginative mind.
