An Almost Fatal Lightning Strike and Unusual Near-Death Experience Triggers Controversial Book, 'Acupuncture of the Mind' Image Goran Zivanovic, a Gold Coast resident, was struck by lightning in 2001 whilst holding the door of his bar fridge. This triggered a highly unusual near death experience (NDE), which, ultimately, informed Goran's perspective of reality. These events inspired Goran to write the controversial and paradigm-shifting recent release novel, "Acupuncture of The Mind."

On the evening of the strike, Goran was at home playing Scrabble with his new flatmate after a marriage breakup. Thinking nothing of it, he went to the fridge in the middle of a ferocious storm and held the door open with one hand. Once the strike hit, he was consumed within a white-blue charge before finding himself in, what felt like, another galaxy where he "floated and spoke with a being of unknown origin." Goran recalls his experience as being "timeless and weightless." He also felt as though he had a choice to return, which wasn't an initially exciting option due to his personal situation. "So much happened, but I was literally out for only a split-second," he said. "The next thing I knew, I was pulled away from the 'stars' and into my gravity affected body, before stumbling to the ground."

Unexplainable supernatural and paranormal experiences have become commonplace in Goran's life since this almost-fatal event. He has been infused with fresh perspectives, provocative theories and an unquenchable creative thirst, which he eventually channelled into his writing. After years of scratching his deeply philosophical musings onto random pieces of paper, Goran crafted a psychological novel ideal for those questioning their reality, and necessity of their belief systems. One reader says, "The work throughout is very in depth, consciously intricate, intelligent and quite deft." "Acupuncture of The Mind" is available at all good bookstores internationally.
