The sixth of seven children, Amy Madge took on a tremendous challenge the day she stepped in to care for her aging parents.

While also working as a medical secretary, Madge faced her newest job with a brave face as a commitment to show her parents the compassion, gratitude and at-home care they deserved.

Her newly released memoir, Memories of My Parents is a collection of experiences, reactions and incidents that carries the reader through the life of Madge's parents, her childhood and the eventual duties she took on caring for her parents until their passing. A powerful admission of her own feelings and tribute to her parents, Madge shares her family's stories through the joyful, saddening, and difficult times.

Supporting her parents as they dealt with the passing of their oldest son, the burden was then shifted again to Madge as her father crumbled from the loss of her mother, his wife. Binding together in a somber attempt to move on, Madge found a new side to her father as he dealt with life without his wife and his newly diagnosed bladder cancer. Madge details the intense feelings of helplessness, waves of grief and loneliness after enduring the loss of three extremely close family members.

"It was through the writing of their story, our family's story, that I began to see how I endured the most trying of times," says Madge. "By remembering their love for each other and us, their children, I gained the strength to face the daily challenges and acceptance of loss."

Available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Inspiring Voices online bookstore.
