Author Ally Burnett is a longtime educator who hoped to one day share her life story. It's the kind of story that will move hearts and open eyes to the harsh realities of child abuse, including the effects it has on the victims and their family. Such a story has come to fruition with Ms. Burnett's book "Happitimes: The Early Years."
Wanting to give validation to the pain of child abuse that she and her siblings had experienced, Burnett's story takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster as she describes her childhood in vivid detail; sometimes interjecting academic insight into how she and her siblings were affected by the abuse they lived. At times, her story is heart wrenching, though honest and insightful, it provides a better understanding of domestic violence and how it reaches every corner of human existence.
