Alan Whichello Looks at Impact of Meteors in New Sci-Fi Novel KAYAK: THE MUTANT ALIEN

Author Alan Whichello uses real-life events as the inspiration for his new science fiction novel, "Kayak: The Mutant Alien" (published by Trafford Publishing).
In February 1830, a meteorite landed at Launton, 10 miles from Oxford. Nearly 200 years later, in May 2012, another meteor was spotted traveling from northern Scotland to southern England, descending to an altitude of about 80 miles above Birmingham and Oxfordshire, and is believed to have finally gone down in the English Channel or the Bay of Biscay.
These events inspired Whichello to write a fictional story about two boys from Oxfordshire who find a meteorite in the fields behind their home. After examining it, they discover a life form that will challenge the existence of the human race.
