The first step, as the book explains, is for lawyers to figure out whether the law is really their true "calling" in life. The author believes a high percentage of practicing lawyers are in the profession for the wrong reasons. Whether they chose the law for the money or it became a self fulfilling prophecy based on their parents' desires, many lawyers find the profession to be a quite hostile environment, not conducive to living a happy and balanced life.
