Actress/author Lisa Soland recently announced the publication of her first children's book, The Christmas Tree Angel. Soland, who was an apprentice at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Theatre Training before moving to Tennessee, is now a teacher and director in the theatre department at Maryville College. Bethany Badeaux, an art student at Maryland College, drew the illustrations for The Christmas Angel.
As a playwright, Ms. Soland has over 40 international publications available through Samuel French, Applause Books, Smith & Kraus and Dramatic Publishing. She recently began a 32 event/four city tour to promote The Christmas Tree Angel, which will be available in time for holiday delivery. When asked how the overwhelmingly positive response to her book has affected her, Ms. Soland said, "There really isn't any way to describe how I feel watching as children discover the book for the first time. Their eyes light up and complete joy spreads across their faces. It's been a very rewarding experience."
The Christmas Tree Angel, which was released by Celtic Cat Publishing, tells the inspirational holiday story of an angel-shaped ornament, which comes to life when placed on the Brown family's Christmas tree. Much to her disappointment, the angel learns from the other ornaments that the end of the holiday season will find her packed away in a dark and dreary storage box for a full year. Determined not to meet that fate, the angel joins forces with a soldier ornament and together they formulate a plan that just might be the answer to all their prayers.
Signed copies of The Christmas Tree Angel can be purchased directly from the author at www.LisaSoland.com. The book is an ideal Christmas present for children of all ages and will be mailed gift wrapped and ready to be placed under that special someone's tree.
