MALVERN, Pa., Oct. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ Accessible Archives, Inc. ,an electronic publisher of full-text primary source historical databases, has announced that page images for all books within its American County Histories collection will be mounted to the website by year-end.

Thirty-four states are complete with images and text, including all states comprising the Southeast, Southwest and West regions. The remaining regions will be completed over the next months: Central, New England, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.

As with all Accessible Archives databases each article is keyed and XML-tagged. These imaged pages backed byre-keyed text produce more accurate search results and cleaner text than dirty OCR. The completed project will allow users to search by individual county, across a state or region, or throughout the entire country as a unified entry.

American County Histories cover local history, geology, geography, weather, transportation, Revolutionary and Civil War participants, government, medical and legal professions, churches, industry and manufacturing, banking and insurance, schools and teachers, noted celebrations, fire departments and associations, cemeteries, family histories, health and vital statistics, roads and bridges, public officials and legislators, and many additional subject areas. For an overview of non-traditional uses and original sources, please see our whitepaper at http://www.accessible-archives.com/?p=79 today.
