This book follows their lives as they wade through the dark and dangerous waters of the era's justice system. This eye-opening book shows the reader the great strength it takes to hold on to one's convictions despite the many obstacles one faces. The dialogue and the settings in the story are very authentic due to the author's firsthand experience as a lawyer during the 60's, and gives the reader a sense of having experienced the sheer idealism of an era.

About the Author
David Lafaille, the author, was a Public Defender for nine years in the '60s and '70s and founded the firm Lafaille, Chaleff and English, which was one of the preeminent criminal law practices in California. His criminal law experience includes numerous felony trials and over three hundred homicide cases. In 1969, the Los Angeles Public Defender's office was the "firm" of choice for the best and the brightest trial lawyers, and many legendary trial lawyers trained there.
