'A Woman Resurrected' Memoir is Released

Author CeCe Cervantes' haunting new memoir, "A Woman Resurrected" (http://www.awomanresurrected.com) tells her harrowing story of torture and abuse; to her daring police rescue, and ultimate redemption.

"A Woman Resurrected" is Cervantes' heartbreaking first person account of her life. Married at a young age, Cervantes suffered physical and psychological abuse from a manipulative husband, who raped her repeatedly. Living life for her four beautiful daughters kept her strong, but when her husband threw her out of their home, she feared she would never see them again.

While trying to put her life back together, Cervantes was drugged, beaten, tied up and held captive in a garage and a house for four years by a Santería sadist, a worshiper of the Santa Muerte cult. Her deep faith and trust in Jesus Christ, along with the never ending belief to see her children again, gave her the will to survive. After finally being rescued in 2006, Cervantes then spent almost two years in a physical and psychological hospital recovery program.

In spite of everything, Cervantes remains hopeful and positive about the future. "Today I am 'A Woman Resurrected,'" she states, "fully recovered from my terrifying past. I have been able to move on and forgive all those people that hurt me. My past does not make me less of a woman; it makes me a better woman, a stronger woman. My 2006 escape and rescue was a rebirth for me. I was able to renew my life and reunite with my four beautiful daughters to look forward to better tomorrows."

CeCe Cervantes was born in Mexico. Her family moved to the United States in 1974 when she was three and she has lived in California for most of her life. CeCe became a proud U.S citizen as a teenager. She enjoys spending time with her family, supporting women and children's charities, and living in the moment.
