RICHMOND, Va.
Sometimes life doesn't live up to the fairy tales we learn as children and a woman has to kiss a frog before meeting her prince.
In her new book, "A Real Love at Last," author Victoria Leigh Gabriella uses personal inspiration to tell the story of the struggle to find true love after the discouragement of a severed marriage and broken expectations. Even later in life, men and women can still find real love.
"Like many women of my age, I grew up dreaming of someday finding a forever love with a man who would love me as much as I loved him," Gabriella said. "I believed I had found my Prince Charming with my husband, but he divorced me after nine years of marriage."
Feeling unlucky about love in her past, Gabriella wrote a tale about finding love after the heartbreak of a failed relationship. This story follows a couple in their forties who fall deeply in love. Although they experience some difficulties, the characters Michael Stevens and Becca Connelly learn to trust and step out of their comfort zones to have their own happily-ever-after ending.
"In the book, Michael makes Becca feel protected, loved, cherished and desired again," Gabriella said. "I hope my version of a fairy tale will remind readers that love, romance, and passion are not just for people in their teens and twenties."
"A Real Love at Last" emphasizes that love is not always easy, but finding true love after heartbreak and even divorce is possible.
